Oktoberfest 

Aug 10th through Oct 13th

It’s more than just bending elbows. Oktoberfest is weeks of fun for the whole family, featuring activities, liveman in leiderhosen music, traditional Bavarian fare, over 50 varieties of beer and an array of local vendors. This highly-anticipated festival begins August 10 and lasts through October 13, 2024, taking place every Saturday and Sunday, along with Labor Day.

 

The Great Salt Lake is not just a large body of salty water. There are many activities to do within the Great Salt Lake, including hiking, sightseeing, and much more!

Antelope Island

Antelope Island is a beautiful place to hike, and see some Utah wildlife. There are herds of wild buffaloes roaming the island, as well as beautiful birds and sights. From Salt Lake City, it takes a little less than 2 hours to get there. But the last 45 minutes of the drive is beautiful!


Boneville Salt Flats 

The Boneville Salt Flats are a popular destination for photos and great views. The salt flats stretch on for miles, so don’t wander too far! It is about 1 hour and 45 minutes from Salt Lake City.


Golden Spike National Historical Park 

On your way to the Spiral Jetty, stop at the Golden Spike, and see where the transcontinental railroad was finished. You can also see working steam trains.


Spiral Jetty 

The Spiral Jetty is a piece of earth art made in the 1970’s by Robert Smithson, out of black basalt, salt crystals, rocks, and water. The jetty extends 1500 ft into the lake and has a beautiful view of the sunrise and sunset.From Salt Lake City, it’s about a 2 hour drive.

 

All National and State Parks have an entrance fee, so it may be benefical to buy tickets online before you go!

Arches National Park 

Arches has one of a kind rock formations and hikes. It is one of the most popular destinations in Utah. Hike up rocks or bring a mountain bike or ATV and enjoy this one of a kind terrain! It is about a 4 hour drive from Salt Lake City.


Bear Lake State Park 

Utah has many lakes and reserviors that are great for boating and outdoor water activities. Bear Lake State Park is a beautiful one, 2.5 hours up north from Salt Lake City, but there are many reserviors close by!


Bryce Canyon National Park 

Another spectacle red rocks experience. Located about 4 hours south of Salt Lake City. Enjoy many hikes and beautiful sights.


Canyonlands National Park 

Canyonlands and Moab are very close together, so if you’re visiting one, you may as well visit both! About 4 hours from Salt Lake City.


Capitol Reef National Park 

Capitol is a lesser known, and slightly less crowded park than Zions or Arches, but it has excursions just as beautiful. It is about 3.5 hours from Salt Lake City.


Dinosaur National Monument 

If your headed down to Southern Utah, the Dinosaur National Monument is a cool stop to make. It has many fossils that have been found and are yet to be excavated, as well as cool fossils that you can pick up and touch!

Zion National Park 

Zion National Park is a spectacular show of Utah's red rocks. With great hiking, and views. It is about a 4.5 hour drive from Salt Lake City.

A beautiful town of Park City is tucked away in the Wasatch Mountains with beautiful canyon views and great opportunities for skiing.

Skiing

Hiking 

Park City has beautiful views no matter what direction you look, and so many hikes that show off the stunning landscape. Park City has a total of 123 hiking trails, so click the link below to see which best suits your wants!


Main Street 

Park City main street has a distinct feeling of home. Come here to enjoy a meall, shop, or just look around.


Mountain Biking 

Utah is one of the best places to mountain bike. Especially in the spring, everything is so green! And no matter where you go in the state, you can rent a bike a ride. Whether you're looking for a fun scenic bike ride, or a more rigirous adventure, you can find it here. Park City is the largest mountain resort in the U.S., with 348 trails and 41 lifts over eleven-square-miles.


Olympic Park 

In 2002, Utah hosted the Winter Olympic Games. Park City still maintains much of the equipment.

The Natural History Museum of Utah is a really cool collection of fossils, artifacts, and information on the exteremly eventful history of Utah and the Western U.S..


Red Butte Garden

Red Butte Garden is a beautiful feature of the University of Utah Campus. There is a beautiful flower garden, and events happening all the time. Come here to enjoy a night out!

Utah Museum of Fine Arts

The UMFA is an amazing collection of historic art and artifacts, as well as more modern pieces.


Utah Symphony

The Utah Symphony has beautiful music and performance, and can be viewed most nights of the week.
